We once lived on Manasota Key, which is a long narrow peninsula off the coast of Southwest Florida, with the ocean on one side and Lemon Bay on the other. It was a privilege to live there, in a natural, unspoiled tropical environment, with mangroves lining the bay shore. I love mangroves -- I love their curving, long above-ground roots that anchor right into the water.

You look into a mangrove "grove" and see their reflections in the water that they thrive in.
