Vintage 1960s Blenko Bubble Glass Cobalt Blue Vase by Wayne Husted - Mid Century Modern - Hand Blown Glass - Blenko Glass - Blue Bubble Vase

Vintage 1960s Blenko Bubble Glass Cobalt Blue Vase by Wayne Husted

Striking vintage Blenko bubble glass vase designed by Wayne Husted in a beautiful cobalt blue. The hand-blown glass has the distinctive raised bubble texture Blenko is known for, giving the vase a great sculptural quality and making it a standout piece of mid-century modern art glass.

The rich cobalt blue color looks especially beautiful in natural light, and the variations and bubbles throughout the glass add to its handmade character. The Blenko mark is etched underneath the vase, as shown in photo #9.

This is a wonderful piece for a Blenko glass collector or anyone looking for a bold vintage accent for a mid-century modern, eclectic, or colorful home. A true statement vintage item that would bring a lot of color to your home.

Condition: Please refer to the overall photos for the condition of the item. Please note surface wear and imperfections from age and use, specifically some paint chips shown inside and outside of the vase like as shown in the photos. Please refer to the wear of the bottom of the vase as well shown in the photos. There is surface wear and scuffing throughout, along with scratches and shelf wear to the bottom. There are also small flea-bite marks around the rim and various maker imperfections, bubbles, inclusions, and other variations within the glass. There are maker imperfections throughout the entirety of the vase (within, outside, the bottom, and the opening of the vase). There are bubbles within the glass throughout the entire of the vase (within, outside, and the edges of the opening of the vase), including but not limited to seed and blister bubbles. Buyer should expect prominent internal air seed bubbles to all areas of the vase (within, outside, the bottom, and the opening of the vase). The exterior bubble nodes show overall scuffing marks to all areas of the vase (within, outside, the bottom, and the opening of the vase). Small internal glass impurities and micro-bubbles are scattered throughout the entirety of the vase. The bottom of the glass shows noticeable surface scratching, shelf wear, and faint white scuffing across the resting points as shown in photo #6. Tiny internal air bubbles and faint swirling mold marks are visible throughout the base glass. Photos 6-7 show flea-bite marks apart of the opening rim of the vase. Please note textured surface scuffing to the opening rim, as shown in photos 6-7. Photo #8 shows along the top rim edge shows a small, dark carbon fleck or tiny particulate inclusion embedded just beneath the glass surface. Hairline shear marks run parallel to the rim edge, along with minor micro-scratching on the top lip from light handling. Photo #9 shows tiny pinhole-sized surface anomalies and scuffs present on the opening rim of the vase. Under natural light, as shown in photo #10, clearly reveals significant surface scratching and scuffing across the flat bottom from historic shelf wear. The central rough pontil scar is prominent, showing sharp, fractured edges and glass flake texture where the pontil rod was snapped off during manufacturing. Light cloudiness, faint water residue rings, and scattered micro-scratches extend across the surrounding glass base. This is a used item.
