The focal for these earrings is a pair of vintage glass buttons. These white pressed glass buttons feature a bouquet of flowers accented with touches of black. The buttons are four way shanked and I have set them in a brass filigree. The button and filigree measure 3\/4" and the brass kidney wire measures 1" vertical. The shank of these buttons have been left intact and it is still valued as a collectible.

Glass button where produced in Czechoslovakia and Germany from the 1918's to 1960's. Many button where exported in the 1950's to the United States. This popularity of glass buttons continued until the mid 1960's, when only 10-15%of the glass factories were still producing buttons. Due to the expense of glass and the influx of plastic buttons, the glass button industry came to an end.

Please handle with care as these buttons are over 50 years old and glass.

I really like the idea of using old vintage pieces that most people would call junk. It gives me a great sense of pleasure to know that I am recycling and giving new life to something that has been discarded. I hope you find something that pleases you and take great pride in knowing that you are helping everyone by recycling fashion. Thank you for stopping in. -Marcella
