This is perhaps the world's best collection of copperplate style pens from the top-most manufacturers of dip pens. In the word of calligraphy, there exists a group of pens considered the absolute best-of-the-best. These are called the 'Dream Nibs.' There are 5 primary dream nibs and this set has four of them. The first of these nibs is the top, absolute, best nib ever made, the Principality by Joseph Gillott. Not only is it one of the most artfully crafted pens, with incredible attention to detail, but it has the finest, most flexible point. The next is the amazing Joseph Gillott #303. Widely accepted as the 2nd best only to the Principality. The third is the ever-popular Spencerian #1. A superior fine point with great flexibility. Finally, the Esterbrook #128 Extra Fine Elastic Pen.

This set also comes with a non-vintage wooden box, decorated by me with yet another hand painted box (made by me), as well as a vintage gold-painted pen holder labeled No36 Bradely of Vermont, and a bottle of non-vintage Ink labeled DR. Ph. Martin's Bombay Black Ink.

In total, here are the following pens in this set (All are vintage. Some are vastly older than others, but the youngest is from 1947 and the oldest is from 1890.):

Joseph Gillott - Principality
Joseph Gillott - #303 Extra Fine
Joseph Gillott - #404 Warranted
Joseph Gillott - #351 School Pen
Joseph Gillott - #290 Lithographic Pen
Joseph Gillott - #170 Warranted
Joseph Gillott - #659 Crow Quill*
Esterbrook - #128 Extra Fine Elastic Pen
Esterbrook - #1000 Free Hand Pen
Esterbrook - #529 Pan American
Esterbrook - #A1 Professional
Spencerian - #1 Ivison Phinney & co
Sprott's - #2
Phonographic Institute - #2F
Mincal - #146EF Torino

All pens are unused, new-stock and maintain their original finish and condition. None of these pens show signs of rust or oxidation. The pen holder is used and has one small chip in it's paint next to the "Y" of the word Bradley. The holder portion of the holder has black ink stains. Otherwise it's in fantastic condition considering it's approximately 70+ years old. The ink is for general use and is considered a 'supply.' It isn't vintage but it is an iconic glass bottle and will get you started should you want to start writing beautiful, copperplate, scripts. The box is made of wood and has been stained and decorated by me. The smaller box is thin, paper, cardboard that has been painted in acrylic paint, ink, and gold paint. The small box has a cotton insert to protect the pens.

*Note that the Joseph Gillott #659 Crow Quill will NOT fit the gold painted pen holder. This set does not contain a holder that is compatible with the #659. A crow-quill holder would be required.
