Collectible Flato brass compact with faux stones on a 3-dimensional carriage front with faille velvet-feeling, fitted slip, sleeve cover and working, swirl from bottom brass lipstick tube.

The lipstick tube is NOT original to the Flato compact . Lipstick is an old vintage AVON tube which is quite nice in its own right and has its original label on the bottom.

Compact is highly collectible as Paul Flato was a jeweler to the movie stars of the time; circa 1930-40's. Flato is marked on the interior of the compact and again on the inside of the red sleeve cover.

There are no dents or dings, mirror is framed and very useable but does have some very slight clouding on the left side. The slip covering shows some signs of wear commensurate with normal use, but is very durable and has a cream-colored satin interior that has gold lettering signifying the Flato brand.

Nice piece in good condition. The compact interior topside of locking powder door has residue from a sticker. I have not tried to clean this. It may very well come off.

This is a highly coveted compact by collectors and this particular one is unusual in that it comes with a red exterior sleeve instead of the normal black ones, if you can find them at all,; they are usually missing.

Compact Measures approx.: 2 1/2" x 2"
Lipstick tube: 2" x 1/2"
