Description

One of a kind Fiber Art. Steelhead Trout is featured in the first photo. Sockeye Salmon in spawning colors highlights the second quilt. Both are are amazing variety of fish that migrate to the ocean and then return to their home in the mountain rivers to spawn. They grow to be huge fish. The fish used to draw this batik outline was 36 inches long. I used blue "trip around the world" strips for the watery background in the third quilt. Taupe solid fabric with little triangles give the fourth quilt a modern look. Batik edges convey the deep canyon pools of the Salmon River (they go to 50 feet deep.) Along the upper edge of the third wall hanging are beaded ribbons which represent the frothy white class 5 water rapids these steelhead must navigate. The fourth quilt has bead strands along some of the triangles. At the bottom of all three are the rounded rocks from Alexander Henry fabric, true to the glacial rocks found in the Salmon River. Brown edging border from Japanese cotton shows the steep canyon rock walls. Heavily machine quilted with waves for textural interest. Real dry fly hand tied lure on a barb less hook in the steelhead's jaw. (removable.)

P I have a nice selection of batiks to make a watery background.

Specify which style you prefer, traditional or modern. Your quilt will be slightly different, and one of a kind.

The quilt is made from highest quality cotton and linen, with natural bamboo batting. It may be hand laundered.

The bed quilt in photos 1 and 2 is 66" x 77". The wall hangings in photos 3 and 4 are 34" x 50 ". Size may vary depending on your preferences if this becomes a custom listing. Made in a smoke free home with no pet contact.
