Description
I designed the contents of this knitting journal to use as a means of planning and documenting my knitting projects. I also designed these pages as a way of keeping a record and inventory of all my knitting supplies, equipment and sources. I have found them to be easy to use and very helpful. I think you will enjoy using them too! I like to keep my knitting journal pages in a binder so I designed
these as 8-1/2” x 11” pages which are perfect for a binder. To use in a binder, you may hole punch along the left edge of each page or place the pages in sheet protectors in your binder. You may print the pages as many times as you need, year after year and for project after project!
Pages in this journal:
Knitting Journal - This is a cover page for your binder.
Knitting Project - These two pages are for recording and keeping track of all the pertinent information about your project. It is so nice to document the details of your project such as the yarn used, including all the specifics about the yarn, any notions or special techniques used. There is room for all of this information plus everything you need to record about the project pattern. There are sections for recording the blocking dimensions and finishing details. You will appreciate the ability to go back and refer to this page and have all the information in one spot when you need it.
Row Counter: This page is to keep track of your row progress as you follow your knitting pattern. There is an area for each row number and a check off area that you can mark off as you complete each row of your pattern. It is a simple solution of keeping track of your completed progress.
Project Notes - This is the ideal place to jot down notes about your project. What are the special instructions, pitfalls, methods that work, things you would do differently next time, what worked and what didn’t. A nice record to read later.
Sketch / Inspiration - Use this page to plan and sketch out the design and look of your project. Try out color combinations. Attach pictures, samples or items that are your sources of inspiration.
Project Pictures - Use this page as a space to attach pictures of your project. Make sure to include in-progress pictures as well as completed project pictures.
To Do List - Keep track of all the steps required for your project and how you want to accomplish them. Don’t forget to check each item off when completed!
Knitting Needle Inventory Pages - These three pages, one for single point needles, one for double point needles and one for circular needles are for keeping a detailed record of all your needles. Record the sizes {US, UK and Metric} the material such as metal, bamboo, plastic, wood etc, and the source.
Yarn - This page is for keeping a detailed record of all the yarn in your yarn collection. There are sections to record the name, manufacturer, color, dye lot, fiber content, count/ply, weight, gauge, and care instructions of each yarn as well as the source, purchase date, storage location and notes. There is also room for a nice sized length of yarn for a sample. Print and fill out as many of this page
that you need, even if you have a huge yarn stash!
Measurements - This page is for recording all of the measurements you need when planning a
knitting project for yourself or someone else. This is a complete measurement record, useful for
whatever your are making such as a sweater, mittens, or socks. Fill out and keep a copy for each
person that you knit for.
Pattern List - Record all the patterns you have in your collection. Include all the important information such as pattern size, pattern name, pattern manufacturer and all the details. This serves as a nice inventory record.
Equipment List - Record all the equipment you have in your collection. There are sections for your
rulers and gauges, stitch markers etc and a miscellaneous section for all the other items you use.
Wish List - Keep a record of the items you still need or want complete with all the pertinent details.
Resources - Record and keep track of all your sources for learning about knitting techniques, books you own or want, online inspiration and shopping sites for supplies.
Graph Page - This page is a simple graph page to plan and chart your own knitting patterns.
Binder Section Page - This page is an editable page that you can use to customize the sections of
your binder. There is an editable space on the page for you to type in the title you want to use. Print
the page and add it to your binder. You can change the section titles and print as many as you need.
Binder Spine Insert - These two pages have a selection of binder spine inserts in a variety of styles
and widths. There are also editable tab inserts so that you can customize the binder tabs to reflect the binder sections that you prefer.
Since the knitting journal is in pdf format, you do not need to wait for delivery or pay any shipping costs! Once you have made your purchase, I will promptly email it to you and you are ready to print it and start organizing!
This is a digital file in pdf format. You will need the free program Adobe Acrobat Reader DC to use this file. You may download it for free at https://get.adobe.com/reader/
