Food Poisoning germ cross stitch, completed in 3" round natural wood embroidery hoop
---The Story---
GERMS! They're everywhere. You can't avoid them, not entirely -- so why not incorporate them into your decor?
If you're into science, or just germs, or cleanliness, or if you're a hypochondriac, you might like to see your interests/worst fears immortalized in stitchwork. Luckily, now you can.
This listing is for one stitched bacteria that can cause food poisoning, Clostridium perfringens, which is the third most common cause of food poisoning in the US and UK. This bacteria exists all over the place in nature, in decaying vegetation, marine sediment, and in human intestinal tracts. It can also cause gangrene and "gas gangrene."* (Gangrene is also available in the shop! Check out "The Links" below for a link.)
---The Deets---
This listing is for just what you see in the first three pictures: one completed light green and ecru cross stitch of a gangrene-causing bacteria with the words "food poisoning" stitched in black at the bottom of a 3" natural wood embroidery hoop.
Food poisoning is part of a series of microbe and germ cross stitches that will feature a variety of brightly-colored microscopic viruses/bacteria/etc each stitched on white Aida cloth and framed in 3" natural wood hoop frames. Find more in the Microbes and Germs section of my shop (linked below).
The other microbes pictured above in the third picture are other Clostridia microbes (including C. Diff and botulism), available as a set with food poisoning; in the fourth picture are (clockwise) the common cold, tuberculosis, rabies and Entamoeba histolytica (cystic form), and an assortment of 20 different microbes in the fifth picture. These are all currently available along with other microbes in the shop.
The back of each germ or microbe will be protected by loose felt that clings to the back; the felt will not be glued to the hoop, in order to allow for easier cleaning and re-stretching should that become necessary.
*CUSTOMIZE: If you would like the microbe's scientific name, clostridium perfringens, stitched instead of the common term "food poisoning," select it using the drop-down list at checkout. Otherwise, food poisoning is default.
If you would like three or more microbes, look for special listings in the Microbes section of my shop, or convo me to request a special order. Multiple orders will receive a small discount. A special set of 3 color-coordinating Clostridia microbes is also available.
*SHIP: This stitch will be made to order and sent via USPS first class (with delivery confirmation) or international first class mail within about a week of your order, usually sooner, unless I convo you otherwise. It will ship as pictured to anywhere in the world.
*GIFT WRAP: Let me know if you are giving this germ as a gift (lol), and I'll wrap it up in plain paper and include a notecard for your "to" and "from" -- or tell me if you're having it sent directly to the recipient (make sure the have the correct address in the address field when you check out!) and what message you'd like to include, and I'll write it out for you before I pop it in the mail.
