Description

Learn how to make these beautiful earrings, which capture the intricacy and grace of gothic cathedral spires with beads. I designed these earrings with a combination of seed beads, fringe beads, and Czech glass beads. The techniques include a modified tubular herringbone combined with crossweave and other embellishment stitches. This design is versatile and the pattern includes suggestions for variations in color, size, shape, and embellishment.

This 8-page tutorial will walk you through the process with detailed written instructions including tips and suggestions, plus 38 color photographs illustrating the stitches. It includes a complete list of supplies and recommended vendors who sell the necessary materials online.

As you can see from the example illustrations, I am a left-handed beader, so this tutorial is a great option for fellow lefties, although I've done my best to write the instructions so that anyone can follow it.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate. Familiarity with ladder stitch and herringbone recommended but not required (detailed, step-by-step instructions for these stitches are included).

Size and Weight: Each completed earring measures 7.4cm in length (not including the earwire), and is approximately 2cm wide. They weigh 16 grams total. (These can be altered using the suggestions listed in the pattern.)

File Size: 1.83MB

This tutorial comes with personal support from the designer. If at any point you become stuck, I will happily respond to emails or convos with assistance to help you get back on track with the design process.

Additional policies

Color and Shopping Online:
Due to differences in monitor and computer settings the colors you see on the screen may not be an exact match to the colors of the item when you receive it. I do all of my photography with natural sunlight or daylight balanced bulbs to minimize color distortions.

Damage and Repairs:
I take pride in producing quality pieces designed to withstand regular use. I test each piece before selling it to make sure you receive a quality product. Nevertheless, in the event that your piece becomes damaged, please stop wearing it immediately, gather all pieces into a sealed plastic bag and contact me.

I will gladly repair damage from regular wear and tear free of charge. For damage resulting from improper handling or if the piece is dropped, I do charge for the cost of labor and replacement components. Please note that in instances of rare or unique components, repairs are not always possible or may require altering the design of the piece.

Handmade Jewelry and Your Clothing:
Please note that as with any textured jewelry that rubs against your clothing, there is some risk of damage to the fabric. My pieces very rarely snag fabrics, but on occasion I have seen textural beadwork cause wear to materials. This is most likely to take the form of pilling or wear to some fuzzy knits and is more common with longer necklaces that sway more as you move. I guarantee all of my work and am always happy to repair a piece, but I am not responsible for any damage to clothing. If you are not sure if a necklace could cause this type of damage, I am happy to answer any of your questions.

Special and Custom Orders:
If you would like a custom piece, please convo me for details on pricing and policies. Custom pieces must be purchased within 30 days of receiving notification that your private listing has been posted. Items not purchased within that time frame will be re-listed for open sales.

Thank you for visiting my shop!
