Rustic light barnwood framed Lorenzo de Zavala Republic of Texas flag also known as the first national flag of the Republic of Texas. This historical flag of Texas is stretched by hand here in Texas and mounted in a custom natural distressed barnwood frame. This Republic of Texas flag measures 24 x 36 inches (2 by 3 feet) and is mounted in a 28 x 38 inch frame.

You may also select the Antiqued version of the flag in our drop down menu. Due to the dark blue background color of this flag, the "antiquing" process is evident primarily in the white star and letter portions of the flag, although the dark blue will take on a more muted look with the tea-staining.

Our barnwood frames are made from reclaimed enviro-friendly old wood. The aged wood combined with the coloring and fabric of the cotton flag produces a one of a kind textured piece. Glass is not included in these framed items so that the detail and contrast are more visible. (Note: We do not provide glass coverings however space is available within the frame to have glass inserted after purchase.)

As reclaimed wood is exposed to the elements and passage of time, rain breaks down smooth surfaces and sunlight bleaches crisp colors. Over time, wood structures lose their original purpose, exposing deep lines, coarseness, and faded pigments; all which create character impossible to reproduce in new wood. We then re-imagine and re-purpose those worn boards into one-of-a-kind cubbies etc. for your home or office.

We intentionally leave our reclaimed wood boards as natural as possible. It is normal to see a mix of minor split wood, various discolorations, an attached vine, a nail or staple, lightly twisted boards. We leave these extras on your cubby on purpose as some folks love “raw” while others clean/sand/stain away in DIY heaven!
