The original marbling kit sold on Etsy since 2012! Generous and complete, this do-it-yourself kit allows anyone to create breathtakingly intricate and colorful marbled papers with no prior artistic experience necessary. You'll follow the same process as traditional marbling artisans and use hand-crafted wooden tools and artist-quality materials including custom-blended marbling paint. Everything (not including clothing :)) cleans up with soap and water, and each item included is re-usable and/or may be re-ordered. Kit contains: Instruction manual (nineteen pages) plastic marbling tray 11 x 14 inches, ½ lb. powdered Lambda carrageenan, ½ lb crystalline marbling alum, 2.5 fl. oz. ox gall, six jars marbling paint 3 fl. oz. each of red, blue, yellow, orange, green, and violet, 6 oz. plastic broom straw brush kit, standard comb 11 inches, standard rake 14 inches, double rake 11 inches, 2 stir sticks, 25 sheets Texoprint marbling paper 9.5 x 12.5 inches, newspaper strips, and a sponge.
Paper is the first thing you'll run out of, and plain copy paper works great for learning. All other supplies are good for many sessions at the marbling tray. For example, the bath or "size" on which the paint is floated is made from carrageenan. 1/2 pound of carrageenan comes with the kit--enough to make 9 gallons of size. 1/2 gallon fills the tray and is good for many hours; days if stored in the fridge between sessions. All supplies are sold separately at Marbling Supplies on Etsy for easy re-order.
All materials are American, Canadian, and European-made. The kit is hand-assembled by me in my Michigan studio.
Children, with adult guidance, can easily create equally beautiful marbled papers and delight in doing so.
• These are the same products, tried and true, that are used in my marbling studio for production and teaching.
• The 19-page step-by-step instruction manual is written by me. With your purchase, you receive "tech support" through e-mail with me personally.
• Please note that processing time can take up to two weeks, but the majority of kits are shipped in less than a week's time. Just drop me a note if you need to know how soon yours will be ready for shipment.
• Choose your own shipping method. The resulting cost is determined by your location and distance from Northern Michigan.
• The kit, packed and ready for shipping, weighs 8 pounds.
• Non-USA locations ship via your choice between USPS Priority Mail International or USPS Priority Mail Express International with delivery taking as long as 6-8 weeks (non-express); but usually within 2 weeks.
• You will need to have an electric high-speed blender to use with this kit, along with a few other household items like jars or mugs for paint, newspaper, rags, etc.

Shipped on time in perfect condition. Directions for use were clear and most helpful. When I had questions, answers came by email promptly. My friend and I had a great time exploring paper marbling and I have enough supplies left to continue on my own. Rakes and comb are very high quality and should last forever. Well worth the price! We got lovely results even as beginners.

High-quality supplies and some of the best-written instructions I've ever had the pleasure to read. (Though I found squeezing the sponge 90% dry of alum solution deposited too little and I had to re-treat my paper after my first "run" had some streaks where the pigment didn't adhere. But that's part of the learning curve, I should have checked better for an even sheen as the instructions also mention.) I'm very pleased I decided to buy this kit after researching various options. I was able to create beautiful designs immediately. I can hardly wait for another session when my paper is dry. Update: Second session went beautifully. Invited my mother-in-law over to play and she was able to create lovely papers with just a little coaching after watching me make the papers in the photo.

This is a great kit to start with! It comes with everything you need. Ive already made dozens of prints testing out this new medium and am very surprised at my success! The best part of this kit in my opinion is the very thorough and helpful instruction book that comes included.
