Description

"He Spoke for Far Horizon"

10” x 36” x 1.5”

Acrylic on custom-built gallery-wrapped canvas with an acrylic gloss varnish and earthquake-proof mounting bracket. The title is painted on the inch-and-a-half wide bottom edge of the canvas frame, where it can be viewed from below, but doesn't interfere with the picture itself.

This abstract impressionist seascape with its unobscured horizon and sweeping vista evokes a sense of calm and quiet that promotes reflection. It is for me a visual rendering of simple infinity and endless possibility. The title comes from a line in Zora Neale Hurston's novel, Their Eyes Were Watching God. Technically, the piece was also an experiment in rendering depth, distance, and detail using only two colors, and those being primary colors. Black and white were also used.

Gallery-wrapped canvases are not typically framed, so this painting is ready to hang. If you choose to frame it, I recommend a floater frame, which will not actually touch the painted sides of the painting.

Free shipping within the continental U.S. via UPS or FedEx ground. Crating and processing time is 1-2 days, and the painting will then be in transit up to 6 additional days, depending on your location. Expedited shipping is available at additional expense.
