The Elephant in the Garden rustic tin table lamp with shade

Rare find — there's only 1 of these in stock.

Item details

Functional sculpture, this upcycled lamp combines a vintage galvanized can and a punched tin planter. Quirky yet fabulous, it will assert itself wherever you put it.

The body of the lamp is an oil can with some embossed lettering on front (see photo 3) and back. It sits on a heavy flame tamer with its own bits of detail (including a little rust). The shade is a tin plant container wrapped in chicken wire. I punched and drilled holes of various sizes into the shade to lend additional texture and sparkle. The pièce de résistance is a vintage spigot handle on top holding the shade in place (photo 4).

- Stands about 19 inches tall.
- 7-inch footprint, 10-inch diameter shade, 17 inches from spout to handle.
- Takes 1 ordinary light bulb, up to 60 watts.
- On/off turn switch on socket.
- Shade clips onto bulb.

Note that all major external parts are used, but clean, and most are truly old. They bear the marks of their previous incarnations. All electric parts are new.
