This image is loosely based on a mural that I saw in an old church in Denmark. It depicted St. George slaying the dragon while the princess looked on. But I noticed that in the corner of the picture was a baby dragon watching in horror from a cave. And then I realized - the dragon was just a single mom trying to provide for her child, and St. George was the villain.

This woodcut was printed by hand with metallic gold ink on japanese unryu paper, which has an elegant, subtle texture caused by longer fibers swirled in with the shorter fibers of the paper. It is hand colored with a bright metallic silver paint.

The image size is 12 by 9 inches, and the paper measures 15 by 12.5 inches. Each print is different, and each is hand numbered, signed and titled by the artist (me).

Thanks for looking!
