This tiny ring box was made in England at the turn of last century. Octagonal in shape, it's made of fine-grain burgundy leather. Lined with cream velvet and cream silk, it's in remarkable condition.

The fancy jeweler's mark features a crown and reads:

To the Late Queen
I.W. Benson, Ltd.
62 ...Hill
London

It measures 1 1/8" tall and and a bit under 1 1/8" wide. The leather, brass hook & hinge, and interior are in excellent condition. It looks like this box was hardy used.

This would be suitable for a smaller ring, a size 5 or smaller. It has a shallow slot and padded silk roof and would be perfect for a small band with a small stone.

Simply beautiful!
