In stock

Whoa! You can't buy your own item.

This tutorial provides 85 step-by-step instructions, each with a full color photograph, to teach you how to make the Dance of the Spirals Necklace. This tutorial is suitable for someone who has already practiced a bit with jewelry tools, and is comfortable hammering and forming loops.

The tools you will need to create this piece include:
-round nosed pliers
-flat nosed pliers
-flush cutters
-wire file
-Chasing or ball peen hammer
-bench block
-tapered bracelet mandrel or other cylindrical objects of about the same diameter as a bracelet and slightly smaller
-two size 3.75 mm knitting needles/ size 5 US / size 9 UK / size 9 Canadian
-an 8 mm mandrel such as a Crayola crayon

You will also need the following materials:
-14 feet (4.25 m) 20 gauge wire
-12 inches (30 cm) 24 gauge wire
-5 beads, size 10mm round or thick coins. If you are not very experienced with herringbone wrap, you will find it much easier to use round beads for your first attempt.
-up to 40 inches of scrap wire, about 20 gauge. This wire will not be a part of the finished necklace.
-36 inches of silk ribbon, about 3/8 to 1/2 inch wide. This ribbon will be pulled through tight places. It is very important that you do not use ribbon that is too thick or too stiff.

This tutorial does not cover the antiquing process. Antiquing instructions are widely available online.

This tutorial is available for immediate digital download. I hope you'll enjoy, and I'd love to see your finished pieces!
