Description

** This is for the sewing pattern ONLY **

The pattern for a KIP Bag is not really a pattern, but a process. You see, there never really was a pattern for the bag, just dimensions and sewing directions. One weekend a few years ago, I sat down with pencil and paper and wrote it out. The directions to sew a KIP Bag require the person to know certain things:

1. How to use your sewing machine, including how to make button holes.
2. How to measure in inches.
3. How to operate safely an iron

With that knowledge possessed, you can make all the KIP Bags you wish. Unlike others who will expect you to only use a pattern for your own personal use...hey, if you want to make KIP Bags and sell them, then do it! My only request that if you try to sell the pattern itself, that you use my name with it.

You see, if you make a bag using the pattern, you are using your talents and knowledge to create something. If you just erase my name, stick yours on it and sell it...well there's not much talent to that. Any Schmo with the right software can do that. But to use a pattern to make something takes effort, and an outlay of money on your part, and the most important thing: Your time.

In this 8 page handwritten pattern is the dimensions needed to make all three bags: Small, Medium and Large. The usual-sized pattern is the small KIP. The process for making the three sizes is the same, and only the dimensions of fabrics and placement of pockets changes.

I've sold over 7,000 KIP Bags worldwide, and the 7 years sewing and selling them was a great time. I've met a lot of wonderful, generous and really nice knitters. If you are on Ravelry at all, I am on there...look me up under the name ruddawg. Happy Knitting!
