Adjustable from 37"-46". If you needed, I could make it adjust to a shorter length. The colorful part of this cummerbund is essentially a blunted oval. The widest/tallest section of the oval is in the center front, and measure just over 5.5". The length of the oval is18.75". The oval tapers to about 2.25" wide/tall and meets black cotton. The black cotton is the section that will be in the back when the cummerbund is being worn. The edge of the entire cummerbund is finished with a black silk jacquard.

During the long winters in Maine, I sometimes like to deviate from my usual studio work (making bow ties, neckties and suspenders) and use some of my scraps to make art quilts. This is one of those quilts which I have turned into a one of a kind cummerbund. This lobster is a collage of 100% cotton prints. If you look closely, you can see that some of the prints are of recognizable graphics-flowers, leaves, chili peppers. But in the overall effect, the actual graphics come together to form the lobster, and you no longer see the recognizable graphics. The gradient background fabric starts as a lighter green at the top of the oval and gradually darkens to a very dark green at the bottom. I quilted the greens using rayon thread, which gives a subtle shimmery effect.


I like looking at the back of the piece almost as much as I like looking at the front. You can see the quilting lines which look like a thread drawing.
