Are you tired of low-quality Polaroid scans with ugly Newton rings? This Polaroid scanning tool raises the Polaroid film just enough of the glass scanner bed to prevent Newton rings from appearing. This scanning tool also helps achieve a perfectly flat scan with no distortion.
This scantool has recessed indentations for double-sided photo album tape. The orientation for the Polaroid is marked as well. The orientation matters because the double-sided tape could damage the paper part of the back of the Polaroid. Placing the Polaroid in the correct orientation will avoid this.
Spare double-sided tape and a manual are included. Any standard photo double sided tape (for placing photos in an album) can be used, as long as it is smaller than 13x17 mm.
Using the scanning tool is very easy if you follow these steps:
1. Add some double-sided tape to the scanning tool.
2. Place the Polaroids in the scanning tool.
3. Ensure the Polaroids are fully seated in the scanning tool and lightly press the film into place if necessary.
4. Position the scanning device on a glass flatbed scanner with the Polaroids inside.
Scan the Polaroids.
5. Remove the Polaroids from the scanning tool by gently pressing through the holes at the back.
6. Repeat this process for each Polaroid you want to scan.
Note:
- Double-sided tape may need to be replaced occasionally.
- The scanning tool is designed for 600, SX-70, and I-type films. A version of GO film can be created if there is enough demand.
- Available in red, yellow, blue, green, orange and black, mainly red and black work well because it creates a high contrast between the edge of the Polaroid film and the scanning aid, making it easy to edit the scans.
