Siamese-type cat collectibles and housewares were all the rage in the 1960's, and this set of Lego winking cat salt and pepper shakers were part of that trend. Equipped with eyes that look like they are winking when the shakers are moved, the shakers have an rear opening where salt and pepper could be poured in. There are still Lego Japan stickers on the bottom. It's my understanding that the bottom metal inserts originally held little noisemakers that would work when the shakers were used, but all you get now is a faint rattle.

The shakers show some rubbing and wear, but they are intact and would be a fun and kitsch addition to a kitchen, or would simply be a fun décor item for any kitty cat lover!
