A lovely read for ladies of the early 20th century, this spring April 1938 issue of Ladies Home Journal features an array of stories and articles that resonated with women at the time and don't differ so greatly from what's written about today in similar publications. Eleanor Roosevelt, at the time First Lady of the United States, had a running series in the magazine. Giving her an engaging platform in which to speak with the female public, this issue features a column in which she writes about divorce- certainly a hot topic of then and now.

Its gorgeous cover is artwork for a what was a new series called "Never Another Moon," a fictional work that gave readers serialized storytelling to follow with each monthly issue. There are many interesting articles and features, including a piece on how women feel about money and a gorgeous pull-out fashion spread highlighting spring trends. Numerous ads fill out the remainder of its pages for a variety of household products: home appliances, food, medications, children's products, cleaning supplies (think Windex in a fancy glass bottle!), and more.

In great condition, there are no major flaws. The cover and interior pages show some wear to the edges, but there is very little discoloration for its age. The print and colors remain vibrant. The large pull-out fashion spread is ripped on one side, but not completely torn.
