Vintage ceramic Bunny Planter: Takahashi hand painted planter; Easter Tree Decor

Featured here is a ceramic bunny planter made by the Takahashi company of Japan. I have used this Easter planter many times, and it's one of my favorites. I begin by filling the cavity of the planter with clean recycled packaging styrofoam. Using the same styrofoam I build a little platform just above the rim of the bunny's basket, providing a place to attach a trim and crinkle paper. Next I center a bottle brush tree and securely attach it on top of the platform. I enjoy decorating these little trees, and creating themes that match the planter. Easter is one of my favorite decorations to make, and you find many different Easter themed embellishments on this tree. I always use a variety of lovely acrylic beads, colorful foam glittered eggs wrapped in white ric-rac, vintage wooden ornaments, along with several pieces of faux candies. To lend to the fullness of the tree, I attach fabric flowers in a variety of styles and colors. Four fabric roses made the perfect tree topper. The outcome is a delightful Easter accent piece which be sure to put a smile on your face.

Created with love in my smoke-free home. All of this is put together with hot glue. Never pick this decoration up by the tree, always hold it by the ceramic planter. For longevity of this craft, I recommend that you keep this stored in a climate-controlled area.
