Dog And Doghouse Toothpick Holder - Vintage Figurine- Kitsch Dime Store Collectible - 1950s 1960s Home Decor - Made In Japan

Here is a fun collectible tiny figurine that fits in the palm of my hand and probably had an original use as a toothpick holder. You could use it as a tiny planter, vase or to hold q-tips in your bathroom. It is a delightful little vessel!

It is old, probably 1950's or earlier and is marked Japan. It features a droopy and rather sad looking dog standing next to his dog house. The dog house has a peach luster glaze. The dog has orange and yellow ears, a blue collar, yellow feet, orange tongue and black eyes and nose.
This was not finely painted so there are paint slops here and there, no fine lines (except for the eyes which are well done) and it is that dime store quality of porcelain so popular in the early mid century. I find no chips or repairs. It's a delightful piece of whimsical fun!

About 2 3/4" tall and 2 3/4 long at the base.
Free Shipping domestic USA only.

I thank you for your interest and invite you to view my other items.
I'm always happy to combine shipping when it is reasonable to do so!
