Museum Quilts, Quilt Book 2, Graphic Enterprises Inc..

An interesting workbook based upon historical quilts and their patterns. From the first interior page (which includes quilting directions):

"Among the treasures in our museums the talent of our women has contributed an outstanding one -- quilt-making. To see the many beautiful pieces of this needlecraft is a pleasure -- to own some would be a delight. With the cooperation of the Brooklyn Museum and the Smithsonian Institution it is now possible that you can own some choice quilts that are in these museums. We have been able to adjust some of these lovely quilts into patterns. These quilts are from 1815 to the middle of the 19th century."

Based on those dates, this would include Victorian and Early American quilts.

Patterns included:

* Wreath Of Roses (an applique quilt)
* Stripes (made in 1815)
* Sunburst (surrounded by Rays of Brilliance)
* Golden Steps (done in squares)
* Sunburst (applique quilt)
* Double Star ("Quilt of Remnants", includes applique work)
* Star & Cross (squares and one strip pieced quilt)
* Pinwheel (colorful pieced quilt)
* Album Quilt (applique quilt)
* Saw Tooth (pieced scrap quilt)
* Whig Rose (applique)
* Orange Peel (applique with two patches)

Heavily illustrated, with charts and patterns, as seen in the scans. Black & white with heavy use of spot-color accents.

No date listed; believed to published at the time of the historical textiles project in early 1970.

Measures roughly 11 by 8 and 1/2 inches ; 32 pages (including covers), staple bound.

Minimal signs of age / wear; just some tanning along edges.
