We are pleased to present a circa 1970’s L E Smith 648 Dominion Colonial Blue 21 Inch Swung Footed. This beautiful and highly collectible MCM glass vase is a beautiful peacock color. LE Smith Glass was established in 1907 in Jeannette, PA and is known for producing the first headlight lens for the Model T Ford. In 1975 the company was purchased by Owens-Illinois, Inc. and was was operated as a wholly-owned subsidiary. In the 1950’s, Smith bought many molds from Mckee Glass Company including several "tec" patterns. In 2004, LE Smith Glass Company closed due to Bankruptcy.

The dominion pattern began as the Heritage line, which was acquired from McKee glass. The earliest pieces of the Dominion line were first produced around 1956.

The LE Smith 648 swung glass vase measures 20 7/8”H x 4.0”W, and 4 7/8”W at the base. The vase is in very good gently used condition, but does have 2 straw marks as shown in the photos.

This lovely LE Smith Colonial Blue swung vase would make a great addition to your Midcentury or Swung glass collection. It would also be a wonderful housewarming, birthday, anniversary or wedding gift.
