Butcher block table top and trestle frame

Description

This particular table top was built with 150 year old reclaimed pine from a barn in Pennsylvania and the trestle-style frame is a mix of reclaimed oak and poplar. The table top dimensions are 36" x 72", but custom sizes and styles are welcomed!

The wood soaked up 6 coats of mineral oil due to it's dryness and age, but once it did, the mixture of dark weather stained wood and lighter heart wood really began to pop. With such a fine finish the grain of the pine almost looks holographic in certain light. Pine is a softwood, true, but I still feel it's an under-appreciated wood for utilization such as this.

The two sets of legs are permanently glued together but the stretcher bar holding them together is set with two removable oak pins, turned on a lathe myself. This helps the table breakdown and store easier if necessary.

The table pictured in the listing is not for sale; your table will be made-to-order.

For long distance orders, I ship with a company that is quite reasonable with price. The way this inexpensive method of shipping works is your item will arrive boxed and on a pallet at your closest local distribution center. You will need a pickup truck as they will load your item onto the vehicle with a forklift. You will then unload your item at home. Most products ship broken down flat for easier shipping so some minor (and very simple) assembly will be required.

Local pickup and delivery is also an option if you're in the Maryland area.

We ordered a custom table with seats for six to match from Josh, and we absolutely love it! He did beautiful work, was very easy to work with and gave great suggestions. It was great working with Josh, he kept in touch with questions and pictures throughout the process. I highly recommend him!

Shipping policies

All of my prices include shipping costs to anywhere in the US. If you're within a reasonable driving distance from Maryland I can personally deliver your item or you can save money by picking it up.

I keep my prices low by keeping shipping costs low. I ship distributor-to-distributor, meaning I drop your package off at a shipping distribution center (FedEx, Averitt, etc) and you pickup at your local distribution center (usually within a 30 minute drive from your home). This requires a pickup truck or van as your item will be on a pallet and will be loaded into your truck with a forklift. By shipping center-to-center and not door-to-door allows me to send large items like tables across the country for a very low price, which means you don't pay hundreds in shipping costs.

Just let me know your zip code and I'll find the closest distribution center to your home. Shipping generally takes two to three days.
