What is 14K gold vermeil?

14K gold vermeil is a layer of real 14K gold over a base of solid 925 sterling silver. Unlike ordinary gold-plated jewelry, which usually has a brass or copper base, vermeil keeps a precious metal underneath. You get the warm color of gold at a fraction of the price of solid gold. Are your gemstones natural, lab-grown or simulated?

We work with all three, and we never present a lab-grown or simulated stone as natural. Lab-grown stones are labeled "Lab Grown" or "Lab Created" and simulated stones, including cubic zirconia, are labeled "Simulated" in the listing. Lab-grown sapphire, ruby and alexandrite are real gemstones with the same chemistry and hardness as mined stones, grown in a controlled environment. Simulated stones recreate the look of a gem at a gentler price. If you have a question about a specific stone, send us a message.

What is a Herkimer diamond?

A Herkimer diamond is not a diamond. It is a double-terminated quartz crystal, named after Herkimer County, New York, where these crystals are famously found. The stones in our Herkimer designs have a smoky, speckled look often called salt and pepper, which gives each ring a moody, one-of-a-kind character.

Moissanite is a gemstone made of silicon carbide. It is not a diamond, but it is prized for its brilliant sparkle and it is very hard, which makes it a practical choice for a ring worn every day. The moissanite used in jewelry is lab-created. We offer colorless moissanite and colored moissanite in shades such as gray, blue, green, champagne and lavender.

How do I find my ring size?

We use the standard US ring size chart and are happy to help convert UK, Australian and European sizes. Select your size from the options on each listing. For the best fit, confirm your exact size before ordering, especially for engraved or personalized rings, which are final sale. Wide bands, such as 8mm men's bands, can feel snugger than thin bands, so if you are between sizes, send us a message and we will help you choose.

Can my ring be resized?

Sterling silver and gold vermeil rings can usually be resized or exchanged (in brand new condition), and resizing starts from a fee that depends on the ring. Tungsten carbide bands cannot be resized, and titanium is very difficult to resize, so please send us a message and we will walk you through your options. Rings with stones set all the way around the band may not be resizable.

How do I care for my ring?

Take your ring off before swimming, showering, cleaning or applying lotion, and store it in its velvet box when you are not wearing it. A soft, dry cloth brings back the shine. Avoid harsh chemicals and ultrasonic cleaners on delicate stones such as opal, moonstone and pearl, and on bands with crushed stone inlays. Moissanite and plain tungsten can be cleaned with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush.

Yes, engraving is complimentary. Add a date, initials or a short message when you order, and the character limit is shown on each listing. Please double-check your spelling, because engraved pieces are made just for you and are final sale.

How will my order be packaged?

Each piece arrives in a luxury velvet ring box for a beautiful unboxing. To reduce waste, multiple items may be packed together unless you ask for separate boxes. We do not include invoices, so gifts stay discreet. If you need one, just request it at checkout.
