Description

The Ballad or Country Lane pattern was introduced in 1953 by Oneida Community. I've always loved this pattern - it's a timeless classic.

You will receive the following in the BALLAD / COUNTRY LANE pattern:
+ 8 Salad Forks - 6 7/8"
+ 8 Dinner Forks - 7 1/2"
+ 8 Modern Hollow Handle Knives - 9 1/8"
+ 16 Teaspoons - 6 1/4"
+ 8 Place / Oval Soup Spoons - 6 7/8"

plus 8 serving pieces as follows:
+ 1 Master Butter Knife
+ 1 Pierced Pie/Cake/Pastry Server
+ 1 Pierced Serving Spoon
+ 2 Solid Serving Spoons
+ 1 Meat Serving Fork
+ 1 Gravy Ladle
+ 1 Sugar Spoon

Backstamped "Community" and "Ballad"

TOTAL of 56 flatware pieces, 5-piece modern place settings for 8 and 8 serving piece

Above in it's original flatware storage chest with Community guarantee brochure. The blonde wood drawer chest with two shades of pink anti-tarnish cloth inside is in very good vintage condition, one of the nicest I've had actually.

This set is for the fine dining table and is in very good condition. Otherwise, you should expect surface scratches obtained during prior light use - and I mean light, this set doesn't appear to have been used more than a couple of times. Many pieces are quite pristine and don't show use at all.

I have several complete silverplate flatware sets available, anywhere from service for 8 to 12. You can see them all here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/gritsgirlz/search?search_query=silver+plate+flatware+service+-casual

Silverplate flatware should be hand washed in warm soapy water using a soft cellulose sponge and dried with a soft cotton towel. The dish soap used should be non-lemon scented and phosphate free.

I recently polished these pieces and they are table ready. I only use high quality silver polish, no TarnX or foil and baking/washing soda dips. Silver plate will last a lifetime if handled, polished and maintained using methods recommended for fine silver.
