Modern statement necklace in soft t-shirt yarn and multicolor polymer clay hoops

This is hypoallergenic necklace, has no metal parts, (only metal toned silver rings) so it is a perfectly safe choice for those allergic to metal.


Design:

This is a tribal inspired handmade statement necklace made by combining simple techniques like the stockinette stitch with simple hand carved hoops made of polymer clay.
These kinds of jewelries are oversized and bulky with a raw touch.
If you are not used to wear statement jewelries or if you are petite, you might find them too big or heavy to wear.

Size:

The length of the necklace is around 52 cm/21 inches.
The length can be adjusted by 2-4 cm/ 1 inches by tying it longer if you like.
Weights around 250 grams.
The thickness (circumference) of the yarn is: 9cm/3,2 inches.
The size of the hoops: are 5 cm /2 inches in diameter and the thickness is: around 1 cm/0,5 inches.

Fastening:

My necklaces are fastened by two long t-shirt yarn ribbons with two polymer clay beads at the ends.

Maintenance:

The hoops can be taken off the necklace and the yarn part can be hand washed when needed.

The process of fabrication:

My necklaces are truly handmade; there are no machines involved in the making process.

Materials used:

The yarn I use for my necklaces are up cycled waste from the European fashion industry.
Everything remained from the fabrication of t-shirts or other jersey items are up cycled as yarns.

The polymer clay is a synthetic material, more resistant than ceramic but heavier than plastic.
They won’t break by simply dropping them on floor.


Packaging:

I use up cycled paper boxes for all my shipments.
Inside you will find each item carefully wrapped with bubble wrap to prevent any damage during shipping.
