Description

With inspiration from my own photo taken at just the right moment last spring in Venice, I created this intimate scene that allows the viewer to imagine the rest of the story. Considered one of the most romantic cities in the world, Venice was home to one of the last great masters of the Renaissance, Tintoretto.. most famous for his use of perspective.

Although this wall quilt looks like an oil painting, I carefully chose the fabrics and appliqued each piece to create layers of depth. The iron gate in the archway as well as the subtle shadows on the wall are hand-painted. The gentle curves of the approaching gondola are achieved with a trapunto technique.

Ready to display in your home or office with a 4" sleeve on the back.

Created in a pet free and fragrance free studio.
