Description

Control your tablet and smartphone with this "extended finger".

This conductive finger cap / conductive finger extension comes in two options:
- Cone shaped rubber kernel (regular)
- Straight and wide shaped silicone kernel (XL)

Common features
1) Natural extension of your finger; plug-and-play
2) Highly conductive fabric tip; no drag, no pressure required
3) Ships worldwide from United States (NC) and Europe (Holland)

Finger cap styles
The regular one has a strong cone shaped rubber kernel with a 16mm or 2/3" diameter as the finger-top entry point (circumference: 50mm or 2"). The XL one has a soft straight shaped silicone kernel with a 19mm or 3/4" finger entry point (circumference: 59mm or 2 1/3"). Due to its shape, the regular cone shaped one has a longer extension towards the other fingers when in use.

Product
The idea behind the Finger Stylus was driven by a paralyzed client (quadriplegic) who cannot move her fingers by her own intention, even though she can move her arms and wrists. And because her finger nails are keeping her from using capacitive devices, she suggested a "big capacitive thimble". After two iterations, we've found a proper working generic solution and we're happy to share this now with the world.

Alternative
If you're looking for a more flexible and adaptable finger extension, look for the ShapeIt Finger Stylus elsewhere in our shop.

Worldwide service and logistics
We offer our services and ship our products around the world, using a flat rate product and shipping fee for everybody. Fulfillment locations in the United States and Europe take care of fast and economical shipping; we'll pick the best spot depending on your location.

Stylus Socks
All styli and pointers use our in-house engineered Stylus Socks concept; a tip made from highly conductive fabric that is wrapped around a plug on the stylus stick. Compared with rubber or foam alternatives, they have no drag, there's no pressure required and they don't break. Smooth operation is guaranteed on all modern capacitive tablets and smartphones, like the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch iOS devices from Apple, the Android based Galaxy range from Samsung, the Nexus range from Google and Asus, the Xperia range from Sony, the Kindle range from Amazon, etc.

A stylus for every need
In an effort to address all special needs comfort levels when working with capacitive touch screen devices, we listen carefully to client needs and adapt them in our extensive styli portfolio. Don’t find a stylus or pointer for your needs? Contact us for a custom solution!

Cheers, Team ShapeDad

History
It all started when the wife of a quad (quadriplegic) patient ordered a regular Stylus Socks stylus from our Etsy shop. She found out about our conductive socks concept while she was visiting a local Apple store and one of the employees started Googling for a proper solution. Their first approach was to put the conductive sock around the tip of their existing plastic mouth stick. But as you may know, a capacitive touch screen requires some ground (body) contact to make it work. And with a plastic mouth stick, this means that a wire needs to be wrapped around the stick and into the mouth, which is not very convenient.

Then we made a custom solution for them based on two approaches. One with a fully conductive aluminum mouth stick gaining enough electrical ground by itself, and one that uses the iPad's body as an electrical ground so you can use it with an existing mouth stick of any material (even plastic). We shipped it and got positive feedback on both approaches. We tweeted about it and got in contact with people around the globe dealing with ALS or MS and started supporting them. A few weeks later, several of these packages got shipped to the US and AUS. And people using a head pointer got triggered as well, so that's how we started offering the conductive plugs. Just put these around your head pointer's tip and you're ready to go.
