THE FIRE OF GOD
Matthew 3:11 tells us that Jesus will baptize us with the Holy Spirit and fire. This occurred on the day of Pentecost as they gathered in the upper room to celebrate this Jewish feast. As they gathered in expectation of God’s presence, Holy Spirit showed up in fulfillment of the Feast day. We can be in filled with the Holy Spirit as well. As we yield to Christ and Holy Spirit, we are endued with power from above.

In Malachi 3:2 and 3, we see that the fire is a purifying agent to burn up all the chaff as we stand righteous before Christ. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice and by His blood, we can experience His fire.

In other Bible passages, the fire of God is depictive of: the nature of God – Deuteronomy 4:24, as consuming our enemies – Psalm 97:3, and as a wall of protection – Zechariah 2:5

RIVER OF GOD
The river of God is mentioned in three main passages in the Bible. The first is Psalm 46:4. This verse talks about the tabernacle of our Lord. Those who stand in its midst will be made glad. This is interesting as the Hebrew word for river: nahar comes from a root word meaning: to be radiant with joy, to be beaming with joy. As we dance in the River of God, we should be jubilant and celebrate all His goodness and kindness!
Another mention of the river can be found in John 7:38-39. As we take in God’s presence through reading and following His Word, we will have rivers of living water that flow out of us.
The third main reference to the river of God is found in Revelation 22:1. Here the river acts as a healing agent. As we partake of the river, joy overtakes us and we receive healing. This follows along with Proverb 17:22: “A joyful heart does good as a medicine”
Besides radiant joy, the river in the Bible is indicative of: prosperity – Psalm 1:3; Christ – Isaiah 32:1,2; God’s presence – Isaiah 33:21; peace – Isaiah 66:12, and Holy Spirit – John 38, 39.

PROSPERITY/SHALOM
The Hebrew word Shalom is commonly translated as peace. Its meaning, however, is so much deeper. Shalom refers to completeness, wholeness, and over all well-being. As our spirit, soul, and body prosper, we will have peace all around us.
Jesus paid the price for our well-being, or shalom. Isaiah 53 is descriptive of how our Lord was wounded for our transgression. Transgressions refer to our sins. Sins affect our spiritual life.
It goes in to say that He was bruised for our iniquities. Iniquities are the things we do to our fellow man that are hurtful. These may include not being fair: iniquity means not being equal (in other words, not being fair). We may not respect others or because of inner hurt emotions, we may lash out and hurt others. The soul is the mind will and emotions. Iniquities refer to sins of the soul.
Thirdly, Isaiah 53 tells us we are healed by His stripes. He took the stripes on His body, so that our bodies may be healed.
Thus, Isaiah 53 tells us that every part of man is healed by believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! That is good new!
Shalom means: peace, prosperity (in all aspects), safety, well being, intactness, and wholeness. All of this is found in Jesus.

ISAIAH 54/GEMSTONE
One of the most hope filled Scriptures in the Bible, Isaiah 54 is a vivid picture of what our lives, once torn with trials, hurts and wounds, rejection, afflictions, disappointments and discouragements, can become aS we yield to Jesus, our Savior (verses 1-3, and 6-8).
But once we realize that Jesus is our husband (the One who provides for us and protects us), and we yield our desires, wants and wishes to Him, He makes provision for us.
He polishes us into brilliant gems for His Kingdom. What was once heartache and hurts, He takes and shows us His love, mercy and kindness. What once felt like we were being tossed in a rock tumbler, results in beautiful, polished gems for all to enjoy and appreciate.
He turns our mourning into dancing! Psalm 30: 11

NEW WINE
The Bible is replete with examples of celebrating, making joyful sounds, and enjoying God’s presence through celebrations. The very first miracle Jesus did was at a marriage celebration.
He came to bring us a new wine: a life filled with joy in Him!
The Bible does give warnings to misusing wine. The new wine however refers to the new life we have in Christ. He gives us joy. Unlike the joy that comes from earthly wine, the joy we have in Jesus is eternal and has no ill effects.
In listing the blessings that come from God, wine is mentioned as making the heart glad. This is the new wine of the spirit. Joel 3:18 tells of the day in which the hills will drip with new wine.
The joy of the Lord is our Strength – Nehemiah 4:10. Celebrate the Lord with joy and gladness!
