Description

This is a complete crazy quilt kit to construct "CORAL" a crazy quilted Seahorse

All materials to construct and embellish this pillow top are included in the kit, including seam treatment embroidery directions. See below for exactly what is in the kit. The only items you need to supply are standard sewing thread, fusible web for the coral, pillow back fabric, and a pillow form (or fiber fill).

Although the instructions intended this item to be constructed into a
16" x 16" pillow top this could easily be made into a wallhanging by adding a fabric back and binding, rather than the pillow form.

Level---This is an intermediate level crazy quilt project. In order to prevent frustration when working this kit the user should be familiar with basic embroidery stitches as well as some more advanced ones (cast-on, pistil, woven cretan, zig zag chain, etc). The user should also be familiar with the “flip and stitch” method of crazy patch construction and it would be helpful to understand the concepts of paper piecing when executing the crazy patch foundation.

Materials included in the kit:
• Color picture of the finished seahorse pillow
• Crazy patch pattern on muslin
• Fabric pack of various fabrics for the crazy patch foundation
• Embellishment bags for each seam treatment, containing specialty threads, beads, sequins
• Ribbon for the seahorse fin
• A line drawing of the seahorse showing the seam treatments
• General Instruction pack for constructing the seahorse, coral and the pillow
• Embellishment instruction pack detailing all the seam treatment stitches and embellishments
• A CD containing the picture of the finished seahorse to enable close-up views of all the seam treatments
• Paper placement guide for placing the seahorse and coral on the pillow top
• Patterns for the coral
• Fabric for the coral
• Pillow top fabric

The only items you will need are:
• A 16” x 16” pillow form
• A small amount of fiber fill (to put in pillow corners to fill)
• Fabric for the pillow back
• Fusible web for the coral
• Needles (embroidery, beading, sewing)
• Sewing machine for the pillow construction ( could be done by hand if necessary)
