I named this doll "Jolene", after the Dolly Parton song of the same name. She is a combination of Janis Joplin, and a Hippy Girl doll. She stands 18" on her base with a 16 gauge steel wire armature that can allows her to stand on her own. She has auburn hair, emerald green eyes and ivory skin. Jolene has two tatoos, one on her left breast of a heart, and a flower tatoo on her left hand. She wears a pair of round eye glasses that can be removed. Her face was created with pigment pens and prismacolor pencils and sealed with acrylic spray.
Jolene is very colorful. I created the design of this doll from the colors in a bead I bought from Sarah Hornik, a wonderful lampwork artist from Israel. I used colors from the bead with Jolene in mind. Sarah's bead is the one hanging from Jolene's left arm, the bead on the base by her name is one of my beads, yes I create lampwork glass beads as well. Her vest has glass seed beads of reds around the front edges of the vest and white pearl glass seed beads around the bottom of the vest in the back. There is a glass Dragonfly button on the back of the vest. She has matching short pants that are adorned with swarovski crystals as well as on the vest. The pants and wrist of Jolene are trimmed in gold and red trimming.
The guitar is hand made by me as well and very blingy with gold and red.
There is so much to this doll that you have to see her for yourself. I can go on and on with what I did to create this doll. I had so much fun creating her and she took many hours and materials to create her.
