Two Bee Hive Dome Insulators

H G Co ~ Hemingray Co

Years ago telephone lines required insulators.
During the 60s, 70s and 80s many lines were taken down as technology advanced.

A large number of insulators were thankfully rescued and not destroyed as the telephone poles became a memory for many of us.

Hemingray Co was best known and was the most profilic glass insulator manufacturer in the world. Hemingray Co began in Cincinatti in the year 1848.

Many of Hemingray's earlier insulators were embossed H G Co.

You will notice on both of these insulators:

Embossed on one side: H G Co

Embossed on top of each dome: H

I believe the color of the glass is aqua.

These two insulators are not dated and were made prior to date codes.

Early insulators have bubbles in the glass and imperfections which now add to vintage value and charm :)

There are several bubbles in the glass of these two insulators.

Both insulators are approximately 4" high and the standard 3 1/4" diameter at bottom.

Both insulators are thick and pretty heavy.

The bottom edge of both of these insulators have some roughness and flea bites.
Most of the old and previously used insulators do have these normal signs of use.
No cracks~the lines in the glass are flaws that occurred I believe during manufacturing.

A great find for the insulator collector!

The insulators are in the original found vintage condition and have not been cleaned with the collector in mind. Expect to find some sand or grains of dirt inside.

Good old vintage condition with acceptable blemishes as expected in these old beauties!
