Igor Stravinsky's Petrushka premiered in 1911 to a great success. Its cunning, whimsical characteristics still captivate classical music lovers today. This ballet follows the story of a hard-headed puppet named Petrushka who is brought to life and falls in love with a ballerina puppet. This was Stravinsky and Diaghilev's second ballet, which encompassed not only legendary music, but also grand choreography and lavish costume and set design.
