An image of tranquility & serenity, "Twill by Twilight" is a visual tribute to the music of the late Japanese composer, Toru Takemitsu. For anyone familiar with his music, it achieves a heightened state of calmness...almost suspended. The title is based on the title of one of Takemitsu's haunting musical compositions. Photographed in mid-winter at twilight, some sheets of ice had formed along the shoreline of Lake Ontario (one of the Great Lakes), but the surface of the lake hadn't yet frozen over completely. A contemplative image that would also make a wonderful addition to the decor for a yoga studio or meditation room.
