Antique Georgian Golden Topaz Foiled Paste Gem Memorial Ring | Heavily Chased 9ct 9k Solid Yellow Gold | Ornate Memento Mori Mourning Ring

On offer for you is this stunning Georgian mourning ring modelled in solid 9ct yellow gold.

It features a rectangular paste gemstone with foil backing which mimics a rich, honey coloured topaz. Surrounding this topaz paste gemstone is a very ornate ring face and matching shoulders in the form of lyre harps. These have been heavily chased with gold work, almost visibly baroque in style and all done by hand.

The flat reverse of the ring face is inscribed with a memorial dedication “A.M.B 21st of February 1895”. This is a later inscription date to a ring that was already an antique at the time this message was etched. Perhaps the ring originally belonged to the person the inscription is for.

The ring is a heavy piece for its size, with all of the gold work being solid. It is sturdy enough to be worn daily, as long as it is kept away from moisture to protect the foiled paste gemstone.

———CONDITION REPORT———

Good used antique condition.
The ring has an obvious re-seize to a smaller size with one patch of pitting to the external band base. This is not something you notice when wearing from the top view, however if you require the ring to be resized smaller or larger it would be the perfect opportunity to have a professional seamless job done. The topaz paste has soft facet edges from age-related wear. These could be sharpened with a stone polish if desired.

We offer a 14 day return on our items from the delivery date.
The return can be given as a refund or purchase exchange.

Item must be returned in the same condition it was sent, free from any alterations or new damage. Buyer to pay return postage costs of the same delivery method (Express insured post, with tracking and signature upon delivery)

All returns will incur a restocking fee of 20% to be deducted on refunds/exchanges.

Returns are unavailable on items that have had custom alterations made.
