Hand stamping is a metalwork technique called "chasing". Each letter is individually stamped into the metal with a steel die, a hammer, and my own hand/eye coordination. Each made-to-order item will have variances in texture, placement, depth of stamping/darkening since each letter is stamped one at a time onto your piece. Your items will truly be unique! Handmade is intended to look handmade. =)

Sometimes, marking or indentation can be visible on the back of the piece created by the movement of the metal. For this reason, we do not stamp the backs of any of our aluminum pieces due to the soft nature of that metal. We do stamp the backs of the steel pieces, however as stated above, sometimes tiny marks can be visible in certain lighting on the opposite side even on steel.

Came out exactly as I wanted. The only problem is that the metal feels very cheap. I got it as a gift but will have to buy additional gifts because this product does not stand alone as a gift due to the metal not feeling as if it has weight.
