I made an opulent necklace by decorating and repurposing some scrapbooking elements and then adding them to multiple chains to make a necklace. The basic peacock started out as heavy multi-layered of paper that I encased in several layers of sealant after embellishing with more rhinestones and enhancements. The peacock was set on a circular golden metal dangle and I added felt to the back of the peacock and the metal piece so they would be more comfortably worn. The teal felt shows through the golden design and rhinestones were added to enhance it. Then, above that is a pretty little crystal encrusted piece that attaches it all to the multiple chains.
One of the chains has tiny golden brown crystals embedded throughout its length. THEN, on the back of the necklace is a dangle of the teal chain going down to a matching crystal encrusted piece to balance out the entire design.
The necklace is 15-1/2" long and the pendant peacock portion is about 5" tall and 3" across. There is a dangle at the back of the necklace that hangs about 4" down the back. The crystal encrusted drop portion is about 1-1/2" high and 1" wide.
This necklace is designed to be a statement piece, but it's made out of repurposed materials that have been converted to be water resistant, but are NOT waterproof. It is not designed to wear while swimming or in any type of immersion.
