What is an "Open Edition" print?

An open edition is a print that I can print as many times as I like! Open editions are a great way to keep original block prints affordable and accessible to art-lovers of all budgets.

What is a "Variable Edition" print?

Variable editions (abbreviated to V/E) are ones that "vary" from the original, first way that the block prints were made. For example, I may print a "run" of 50 black-ink prints, and then run a "variable edition" of the same block with blue ink instead! I also consider any prints to which I have added watercolor to be variable editions. Even though I may use the same color palette (for example, a V/E that has red flowers and yellow background vs. a V/E that has pink flowers and a blue background), each watercolored print ends up being unique with brushstrokes and variation in hue. Some of my variable editions may be unique "monoprints", meaning that only one of them will ever exist.

What is a "Limited Edition" print?

Limited editions are just that -- limited! They are numbered and signed. Once all of the prints in the edition have been created, there will never be any more made of that block with those specifications. Limited edition prints tend to be priced at a higher price point than open editions due to their inherent rarity. Once they're gone, they're gone! Sometimes a limited edition print will later have variable editions created from the same block.

"Big Stretch", 2024, handmade linocut print, open edition, 4" x 6", 8" x 10" matte

Original, one-of-a-kind, hand-pulled linocut print. This block was designed, carved, and printed by me. It is an open edition (not a limited edition), but since they are all handprinted, each one is a little bit different and unique from the others. This artwork would be fun in your living room, near your yoga mat, or anywhere else you need a cute cat!

Includes a black matte (fits any standard 8" x 10" frame) and a backing board. Protected by a plastic print sleeve for shipping. I recommend putting it in a black frame, or a white frame.

Any frames shown in images are not included in this purchase. Price includes shipping/handling!

Not only was this beautiful print a really special and memorable gift for a friend who'd recently lost her cat, Sara went above and beyond to get me the print quickly so I could bring it on my trip. Her kindness will not be forgotten in a hurry. So many thanks to Sara for helping me give a friend a treasured gift. I can't recommend this shop highly enough.
