Highlights

💜 Vintage Purple & Lilac Wall Plate Gallery – Set of 7 | Antique Staffordshire Transferware | Paragon | Portugal | Grandmillennial Decor

༺❀༻ ━━━━━━━ ༺❀༻

A beautifully curated set of seven vintage and antique decorative plates and bowls in soft shades of lavender, plum, violet, white, cream, green, and touches of gold.

This collection brings together 19th-century English Staffordshire transferware, Paragon fine bone china, Japanese floral porcelain, hand-painted Portuguese pottery, and sculptural Portuguese stoneware, creating the wonderfully layered, collected-over-time look of a traditional plate wall.

Each piece has been selected to complement the others while still retaining its own individual character. The mix of historic transferware, romantic florals, painterly decoration, and textured white stoneware gives the gallery a refined grandmillennial / English country house feel without appearing overly matched.

🦅 Podmore, Walker & Co. “Eagle”

The large lavender transferware plate is an early Victorian piece by Podmore, Walker & Co. of Tunstall, Staffordshire, England.

The reverse is marked “Pearl Stone Ware” with the named pattern “Eagle.”

The design depicts birds of prey within a romantic landscape, surrounded by an elaborate floral and scrolling border in a beautiful soft lavender-purple transfer.

Approximate date: c. 1834–1856.

“Pearl Stone Ware” was a period trade designation associated with durable ironstone-type ceramic ware.

🏡 Thomas Hughes & Son Ltd. “Avon Cottage”

The scalloped scenic plate is marked:

“Avon Cottage”
Warranted Under Glaze Print
Thos Hughes & Son Ltd.
England

The pattern features a romantic cottage beside water surrounded by lush trees, flowers, and countryside scenery.

Its rich mulberry / plum transferware tones coordinate beautifully with the other purple pieces in the gallery.

Approximate date: c. 1930s–1950s.

༺❀༻ ━━━━━━━ ༺❀༻

🐎 A. J. Wilkinson Ltd. “Pastoral Davenport 1840”

Another standout piece is the amethyst-purple transferware bowl marked:

“Pastoral Davenport 1840”
A. J. Wilkinson Ltd.
England

The central scene depicts a mounted rider and dogs near a picturesque cottage, framed by an unusually detailed border incorporating riding, hunting, and agricultural implements intertwined with foliage.

The wording “Davenport 1840” refers to the historic design inspiration, rather than the actual manufacture date of this example.

Approximate date: c. 1896–1920s.

🌹 Paragon Fine Bone China “Rose Ballet”

The elegant fluted floral plate is by Paragon Fine Bone China, England, in the named “Rose Ballet” pattern.

The backstamp reads:

“By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen
Manufacturers of Paragon Fine Bone China
‘Rose Ballet’”

The plate features soft pink roses and foliage arranged around a beautifully fluted rim, finished with a delicate gilt edge.

Approximate date: c. 1950s–1960s.

༺❀༻ ━━━━━━━ ༺❀༻

💜 Trimont Japan Violet Saucer

The petite floral saucer is marked:

“TRIMONT
JAPAN”

It features clusters of purple violets with green leaves, a scalloped rim, and generous gold gilding.

Its smaller scale adds a lovely jewel-like accent to the overall gallery.

Approximate date: c. 1950s–1960s.

༺❀༻ ━━━━━━━ ༺❀༻

🎨 Block Molde Portugal “Colorado”

The bold hand-painted floral plate is marked:

BLOCK Molde
Portugal
Colorado by Diane Kuligowski
Hand Painted

The design features stylized purple and lavender florals with fresh green leaves, black accents, and a decorative lavender border.

Its painterly, slightly more contemporary character adds contrast to the traditional English transferware while keeping the overall purple palette cohesive.

Made in Portugal.

༺❀༻ ━━━━━━━ ༺❀༻

🤍 Neo Stoneware Portugal

The sculptural white plate is marked:

neo stoneware
Made in Portugal

and retains a sticker reading:

“Handcrafted in Portugal.”

It features a striking raised, radiating shell / chrysanthemum-like relief pattern under a soft white and grey reactive glaze.

Its texture and neutral tone provide a beautiful visual break among the more heavily patterned pieces.

Approximate date: late 20th to early 21st century.

✨ Styling

Designed to work beautifully as a ready-made plate wall gallery, this collection would look especially striking above a console, sideboard, dresser, bed, fireplace mantel, breakfast nook, or dining-room buffet.

The colors pair beautifully with:

• Pale lavender or dusty mauve
• Warm ivory or creamy beige
• Soft sage green
• Muted taupe
• Deep plum or charcoal for stronger contrast

The mix of antique Staffordshire transferware, English bone china, Japanese florals, and Portuguese pottery gives the gallery a collected, sophisticated character that works especially well in grandmillennial and English country-inspired interiors.

Wall hangers are not included.

⚠️ Condition

Good vintage and antique condition with age-appropriate signs of previous use and wear.

Because this collection includes pieces spanning many decades, individual items may show:

• Crazing
• Light surface or utensil wear
• Minor discoloration or staining
• Manufacturing irregularities
• Gentle wear to transfer decoration
• Wear to painted or gilded details
• Other characteristics consistent with age and previous use

The Avon Cottage plate shows visible crazing, and the Trimont saucer shows noticeable wear to the gold trim.

The older Staffordshire pieces naturally display characteristics expected from genuine antique ceramics.

Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description and show the exact pieces included in this set.

📦 Shipping

Each plate and bowl will be individually wrapped with protective materials and securely packed together for shipment.

Special care is taken when packaging antique and vintage china to help ensure these fragile pieces arrive safely and ready to display.

🌿 Vintage & Antique Disclaimer

Vintage and antique pieces have had a previous life and may naturally show signs of age, use, or manufacturing characteristics that distinguish them from modern factory-new items.

These variations are part of their authenticity, history, and individual charm.

Please examine the photographs and description carefully before purchasing.
