I embroidered a circle patch with the Viking Compass "Vegvisir" surrounded by Runes & Viking/Celtic details (**see below for more information on this symbol). Offered in 4 different color combos, the patch can be ironed on for placement - I highly recommend SEWING it on as well (please see below for adhering instructions).

**The vegvísir (Icelandic for "wayfinder") is an Icelandic magical stave intended to help the bearer find their way through rough weather. The symbol is attested in the Huld Manuscript, collected in Iceland by Geir Vigfusson in Akureyri... A leaf of the manuscript provides an image of the vegvísir, gives its name, and, in prose, declares that "if this sign is carried, one will never lose one's way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known". Vegur is derived from the Old Norse vegr, Proto-Germanic *wegaz, or the Proto-Indo-European *weǵʰ-. Vísir is derived from the Old Norse vísa meaning 'to show, point out, indicate', or the Proto-Germanic wīsōną or wisaz, meaning 'to visit'. Vegur ('way') + vísir ('pointer') derives its meaning from the same word as the English wise. It points someone the right way. It is also found within two other 19th-century Icelandic books which are a collection of ancient magic, spells, runic alphabets and magical symbols and sigils. <from Wikipedia>

TO ADHERE:
1. Preheat your iron - HIGH HEAT
2. Place the patch with the sticky side down onto the garment. Make sure it is exactly where you want it to be. Cover it with a cloth or parchment paper.
3. Place the iron onto the design and press firmly. Move the iron around the design area for about 30 seconds.
4. Remove the topping and check the patch, If there are still parts that did not adhere repeat the steps above*.
5. Let the patch cool before stitching around the edges (a straight stitch or zig-zag stitch works best)

*NOTE* the patch may not adhere properly to all surfaces, especially canvas or thicker fabrics.

I try to use recycled items for as many of my creations as possible. This includes a lot of scrap fabric & backing, salvaged spools of threads and gently used clothing & other fiber materials. Due to the nature of limited recycled materials, many of my creations are one-of-a-kind or made in very small batches.

*PLEASE NOTE: My custom embroidered clothing and accessories are handmade, one-at-a-time on a high-quality industrial embroidery machine. While I do my best to get every design uniform, each item may vary from the product pictures. Lighting can vary photo to photo and every computer/device screen is different, and can make the colors look slightly different.
