Description

From the author of Japanese Temari, A Colorful Spin on an Ancient Craft

PATTERN ONLY - after purchase, you will receive the 3 page pattern directly from etsy (pdf). You print the copy.

No shipping fee.

Unfolding Kiku is a temari I designed for Level 3 certification with the Japan Temari Association located in Tokyo. This one was selected by the judges to be published in Color Coordinated Temari, a book in Japanese filled with patterns from association members.

The bright white threads of the fans and kiku really shine against the ball’s tan background. The temari is marked in a combination 10 division and unusual kite shapes are combined to define the area for filling with kiku herringbone stitching.

This temari is for advanced stitchers who are ready for a fun challenge in placing the design correctly on the division and executing kiku herringbone and straight stitches in a unique way. Directions for marking a C10 division and stitching a kiku herrinbone are not included. 3 pages, full color.

This is a Level 3 design.
