Tutorial: Witch Hat

Exciting news, customers! This tutorial just got a major upgrade. I've rewritten everything, providing updated techniques, tools, and processes. This wet felting tutorial will guide you step-by-step in creating a beautiful rainbow witch hat with a 3 to 4 inch brim. The best part? You don't need any knitting, crocheting, or sewing skills! All you need is some wool roving, soapy water, and a little bit of magic to create a stunning hat. Please note that this is NOT a dying tutorial, so we will be using pre-dyed roving.

Materials & Tools
4-5 old towels
8-inch zip ties
Sharp scissors
1-quart of shellac
*Cloche hat shaper*
Foam underlayment
4oz of wool batting
1-yard of nylon netting
Handheld electric sander
4oz of merino wool roving
1-quart of denatured alcohol
Dish soap (scentless and dye-free)
20oz empty baby powder bottle w/cap
Clover needle felting claw and mat cleaner

*Wooden hat blocks can be very expensive, so I recommend using Hat Shapers, which are made of heavy-duty plastic and cost around $35. You will need to order the "Cloche Style" hat block for this particular project. Ordering from the hat shaper website may be challenging as it's run by an older couple and the site may not be user-friendly.
