Welcome any and all fiber artists! In this tutorial, you will follow step by step photos paired with detailed instructions on your way to learning how to make a Rainbow Witch or Wizard hat. There's no knitting, crocheting, or sewing - just soapy water and a little magic! The felted witch hat is an intermediate level felting project, so experience with felting is suggested.

Materials & Tools
Dish Soap
4-5 Old Towels
A Resist Material
Cloche Hat Shaper*
4.0 oz of Wool Batting
Handheld Electric Sander
One Yard of Nylon Netting
4.0 oz of (merino) Wool Top
Hydrolac Powder Hat Stiffener
40" by 20" Piece of Bubble Wrap
Clover Needle Felting Claw & Mat Cleaner
20 oz Empty Baby Powder bottle with cap

*A note about the cloche hat shaper. Hat block are very expensive usually, hundreds of dollars. However the hat shapers are under thirty and work perfectly for this kind of casual hat making. This is an important tool for this tutorial and I would urge you to have one before attempting this project.

Wow! Your two for one deal is really a six for one deal! Two hat tutorials, a tutorial on working with a hat mold (which goes into great detail with excellent pictures), how to make nuno felt hat band and flower, how to stiffen and sculpt felt. Not only that, but it is full of tips and tricks. This tutorial is a fantastic deal. I'm so glad I gifted myself! PS Made the wizard hat. Turned out great. I did not stiffen the hat - it still holds its shape and allows for different shapes and looks which is waaay fun.

Oh my god, CUTE This tutorial is straightforward and easy to follow. I leaned so much about how finicky wool can be if you’re not careful!

I think this is a wonderful idea to put the tutorial of felting wool for individuals who really want to learn. That being said, I like that there were many pictures that were very helpful but a video during the wetting down the wool and felting the wool without a sander would have helped me understand a lot more. I kept thinking that I was putting too much water on it and was kinda freaking out. Also, for the wizard hat tutorial I wanted to make just a black one and I didn't know if I only needed one layer of black or if I needed 2 layers like with what you did with the color. So maybe i'm just an idiot and just needed extra help, but I really loved this product and feeling so much more fulfilled making it myself. It's definitely a process and hopefully my next hat turns out better.
