Description

This eye-catching ring features a 6.5mm Forever One G-H-I moissanite (equivalent in size to a one carat diamond) set in a 14k yellow gold tapered bezel on a 6mm wide layered band (18k palladium white gold topped with two asymmetrically placed 14k yellow gold bands). All of the metal used in the construction of this ring is from recycled sources and has been given a matte/brushed finish.

18k palladium white gold, like all varieties of 18k gold, is 75.2% pure gold. Unlike regular 18k white gold, it does not contain any nickel, so is suitable for those with allergies to nickel. It also contains some palladium (a precious metal akin to platinum) to provide a superior, longer-lasting white color over time without rhodium plating.

The final listing photo shows this ring with a coordinating band, which is available separately here -

Be aware that the layered, dual metal construction of this design makes it difficult (if not impossible) to re-size. I always recommend that you get professionally sized at a local jeweler, using ring sizers as close as possible in width to the band you are planning to order. Additionally, if you are unsure at all about your size, I can send out the palladium white gold core for you to try on prior to adding the precious metal overlay, since adjustments are still possible at that point in the construction process. This would, of course, add a couple of weeks to my turnaround time. If you'd like to do this, please be sure to let me know in the 'message to seller' field during checkout.

Moissanite was originally born from a meteorite over 50,000 years ago, and was first discovered by Dr. Henri Moissan in 1893 in material collected from a meteor crater in Arizona. These incredibly brilliant sparkling crystals might have been considered "diamonds from space," but Dr. Moissan's research actually identified them as a new mineral find - silcon carbide, whose chemical composition is SiC (diamonds are made from carbon). This stunning jewel is extremely rare, and almost impossible to find in nature. So rare, in fact, that the dream of using it in jewelry was an impossibility until man discovered a way to create and craft these incredible silicon carbide crystals here on Earth.

With more fire than any popular gemstone (including diamond), no other stone or jewel compares to Moissanite. In fact, fire can be measured scientifically and moissanite has nearly 2.4 times the fire of diamond. Moissanite also has 10% more brilliance and luster than diamond. Proven to be harder than ruby, sapphire or emerald and second only to diamond, moissanite is also extraordinarily heat resistant, durable, and tough. It is extremely resistant to scratching, abrasion, breaking and chipping. And because these phenomenal stones are grown in a laboratory, you don't have to worry about the ethical problems involved with harvesting diamonds and other mined gems.

This design uses a Forever One G-H-I stone. Moissanite comes in two varieties - Forever One G-H-I and Forever One D-E-F (with the letter grades corresponding to traditional diamond color grading) - if you'd like a quote for this design with a Forever One D-E-F moissanite, please contact me for a quote.

If you would like to make two payments (50% now and 50% upon completion), please note your preference in the 'notes to seller' field and select 'other' as your payment method. Once I receive your order I will send a Paypal money request for half the total, or you can call me to process the partial payment on your credit card over the phone.

SHIPPING INFORMATION
-----------------------------------

If you live in the United States and your order total is below $2,000, default shipping is via USPS Priority Mail (insured). If your order total is above $2,000, complimentary FedEx 2-Day delivery is included (also insured). If you prefer a different shipping method, please ask.

I do offer international shipping; because the US postal service will not insure jewelry items shipped internationally, I use FedEx International when shipping outside the US; this is a more expensive but far safer option. The price listed here for international shipping is an ESTIMATE ONLY - actual shipping costs could vary by up to $40 over or under the amount listed. If you would like an exact quote for shipping, please contact me prior to checkout; otherwise, I will contact you soon after checkout with an EXACT shipping quote and we will make arrangements at that point for a refund or additional payment. International buyers, please be aware that you are solely responsible for any duties/taxes that your country may charge on imported goods (this amount is NOT included in the shipping cost due here, but is paid separately upon receipt of goods). Please do not ask me to lie on the customs form; it's against the law! I can also provide an estimate for duties/taxes upon request.

I am an eco-freak! Wherever I possibly can, I make decisions that support the health of the environment, as well as the people and other animals that inhabit our earth.

I use recycled office supplies and shipping materials whenever possible. My studio electricity is generated from solar panels on our garage roof. I purchase carbon offsets for shipping. All of my jewelry is vegan-friendly meaning no animal products (pearls, silk, leather, etc.) were used in its construction.

FAQs

I accept returns/exchanges; please contact me within 14 days of receiving your order, and be sure the return is made within 30 days.

For in-stock items, I do offer full refunds (less shipping), within the time frame described above.

For made-to-order items (this includes all rings that are made to order in the size you specify), a 25% re-stocking fee does apply. This is due to the difficulty in re-selling a specific design in a specific size.

If there is anything I can do to help minimize the chance of a return being necessary (such as sending ring blanks to confirm size, or even sending a sample ring from my in-stock selection to assist with your decision), please reach out.
To be sure that you order the correct size, I suggest stopping in at a local jewelry shop to have your finger sized.

Be aware that wider ring bands may tend to feel snugger than narrow bands, so if you’re going to order a wide band, ask your local jeweler to use a wide band sizer.

If you're trying to surprise someone with a ring and you need help guessing his/her ring size, check out these helpful tips - http://groomsadvice.com/2010/02/08/how-to-secretely-find-her-engagement-ring-size/ (please excuse the hetero-normative wording).
Some designs are easy to re-size, while others are impossible to re-size.

If it's important to you that you are able to size your ring up or down, either right away because you're unsure of the size you need, or down the road to account for weight gain/loss, pregnancy, etc., please touch base with me about that before deciding on a design.

Bands that have one metal type layered on top of another metal are very difficult, if not impossible, to size up more than perhaps a half size, and can be sized down, but will likely have a visible solder seam in case of downsizing.

Since repair work is not my area of expertise, depending on the design of your ring, if re-sizing is necessary, I may refer you to a more qualified local jeweler.
I often receive requests from customers to build a ring using a stone they provide. Unfortunately, at this time, I am unable to assume the liability associated with working with customers' stone. There is a very slight (but ever-present) risk of damaging a stone during the setting process, and it's not a risk that I am currently comfortable accepting.

As an alternative, I am happy to discuss creating a ring without a stone, which you can then take to a local jewelry shop to have your stone set into - most jewelers will charge less than $100 for this service.
