Mid Century Baby Nursery Thermometer Switch Plate Excello 1950s No 5757 Original Box

Vintage Mid-Century Baby Nursery Plastic Switch Plate Cover with Glass Thermometer made by the Excello Baby Plate Company, circa 1950s - #5757 in the original box with the original screws for replacing the plate. "Replaces Regular Light Switch Plate"

On the front of the box - "Certified Accurate Thermometer - U.S. Gov't Standards" - "Doctors Approve" - Accepted For Advertising in Publications of The American Medical Association".

On the back are the words "This is a precision instrument to protect your child against chills and overheating." and a "Heath Zone" chart for help with regulating the child's room temperature.

It has a mid-century look with a blonde (yellow) haired baby dressed in PJs hugging a yellow teddy bear, looking at a yellow, black & white clock - all on a white plastic background. The Thermometer is on the right hand side - and appears to still be working - it is 80 degrees in my office!

The box measures 5 1/4 inches square.
