Beautiful pair of brown leather riding boots dating from c 1900.
These are the 'all singing, all dancing' model in super quality leather with toecaps, straps and laces, and they are in excellent, original condition. All we have had to do is clean and wax them, and they look wonderful.
The colour is just beautiful and they have the original wooden lasts with brass ring pulls to the tops.
They have been worn, but there is little signs of wear to either the heels or soles.
They are 18" high to the top of the lasts and 12" from heel to toe which probably makes them around a size 9 - 9 1/2 UK.
As you will know, these boots were incredibly expensive as they were made to order for the client and they were made to fit his or her feet and legs, this is why they don't have a size specified inside as normal shoes usually do.
I've always assumed the boots with toecaps and laces are more likely to be officer's boots rather than simple riding boots or boots for playing polo, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
