Holography is the Nobel award winning science of recording the light waves emitted from a laser as they are reflected off of an object. The recorded interference pattern of light, when replayed (illuminated or simply lighted) this set of microscopic hills and valleys in the holographic film reproduces an image exactly depicting the original including its three dimensional information. This recreated image is called a hologram. For the observer, the perception is virtually indistinguishable from reality.

Are Pictures That Switch From One Image To Another Holograms?

Although they can be, they are usually. Most double-image pictures are created using 'lenticular' optic technology, not holography. Lenticular images have a ridged plastic surface and as a result are relatively thick. AuthentiBrand Inc. can help you with your lenticular needs, though in most instances we will refer lenticular work to other industry colleagues. If custom holography is within your budget, and you are interested in combining 2D-3D holography and two channel imagery, we can likely accommodate your needs. E-mail your specific requirements and we will respond with the details.

Can Holograms be Reduced or Enlarged?

Unfortunately, for both HoloBrands Stock Image and most fully custom holograms, the answer is no. Holograms maintain an exact one-to-one ratio with the artwork used to create them. Our holograms can, however, be cropped down to smaller sizes-as long as the subject matter lends itself to eliminating a portion of the image. If you are not sure how a particular image will appear when cropped to suit a specific product, please ask your sales representative for assistance.

What are Security Holograms, and Why Are They Secure?

Security holograms are used to prevent counterfeiting, or to otherwise authenticate the products to which they are affixed. Holograms are noteworthy in this regard, since they are both costly to produce and extremely difficult to duplicate. Further, the addition of covert security devices, sequential numbering, tamper evident adhesives and other security features make a well-produced security hologram virtually impossible to duplicate without by anyone other than its creator. The most commonly recognized form of security holograms can be found on Master Card and Visa credit cards.

In What Ways Are Holograms Typically Used?

Besides the wide range of products listed on our HoloBrands® website, holograms are frequently used as embellishments on printed media such as magazine covers, paperback books, brochures, direct mail pieces, and pocket folders. Other interesting options include CD covers, school yearbooks, and product packaging. Some interesting examples and case studies can be viewed from our list of clients.

Custom and personalized orders

Though there are no absolute minimum volumes for custom holography, the rule of thumb is that projects whose hologram budget is under $5,000 are more cost effective if stock image holograms are used (see HoloBrands®).

Custom and personalized orders

For security, advertising, promotion and packaging holograms are almost exclusively the photopolymer or embossed type. Embossed holograms are the silvery, rainbow colored images found on Visa and Master Card, where photopolymer type have a green/gold hue and are most commonly associated with swim goggles and cell phone screen protectors. While more visually exciting, photopolymer holograms are more expensive and less versatile (in application) than embossed type holograms of the same size.

Custom and personalized orders

Most embossed holograms are created as a "rainbow," so that each holographic element in an image will shift through the entire visible spectrum as the image is moved. Using the latest technology, we now have the ability to color tune holograms. Under ideal viewing conditions and at one particular angle, a color tuned hologram will closely replay the colors in the original scene (check out the Shakespeare, Blooming Rose, and Flowers stock images under the 'original line' of our HoloBrands® site, but remember to order samples as the website pics are NOTHING like the real holograms!).

Custom and personalized orders

HoloBrands® is the world's largest selection of stock image holograms developed specifically for advertising and promotional use. HoloBrands® delivers its holograms on a wide-array of high quality promotional products, and offers product customization through the incorporation of logos, ad copy, slogans or line art. HoloBrands® Stock Image holograms have all the impact of fully custom holography, without the high set-up costs and lengthy turn-around times. All HoloBrands® holograms and most of our products are made entirely in the USA.

This remarkable 3D SNAKE hologram (FRAMED) captures the intricate details of a snake, one of nature's most fascinating and mysterious creatures. Snakes, elongated and legless reptiles of the suborder Serpentes, are known for their ability to swallow prey much larger than their heads, thanks to their highly mobile jaws. This hologram perfectly embodies the essence of these carnivorous reptiles, showcasing them in a stunning three-dimensional form that seems to slither off the surface. If you have a passion for snakes or simply appreciate the beauty of nature's designs, this hologram is a must-have addition to your collection.

Matt Size: 5" X 7" inches

Hologram Film Type: Photopolymer

Technique: Reflection Hologram

NOTES: The hologram comes expertly FRAMED, offering a sophisticated and ready-to-display piece that enhances its visual appeal and ensures its preservation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
This collectible white light reflection hologram was created on photopolymer film at the Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge, MA, during the 1980s and 1990s. Despite its small size, the image offers an exceptionally deep and realistic appearance, thanks to its vertical and horizontal parallax. Polaroid, the first true mass producer of photopolymer holograms, employed expert model makers and holographers to create some of the best commercial reflection holograms ever made. As these holograms are no longer in production and quantities are dwindling, their value continues to rise. This image’s parallax gives it a sense of depth and realism that must be seen to be fully appreciated.

The SNAKE hologram was created from a custom-built model of a snake. Hologram models must be completely stable (no movement on a molecular level) and the exact same size as the finished piece. The model was placed onto an optical stabilization table with mirrors, mounts, and lenses, then exposed to the light of a laser beam reflected directly and indirectly to a glass holographic film plate. This ‘master hologram’ is then used to recreate copies.

Our Lighted Displays are designed by Peter the Hologram Man, founder of Hologram Place and owner of this ETSY store, who has them engineered and custom built to his exacting specifications. Our latest HoloLamp V2 (included with all lighted displays) has been touted by numerous holographers and the prestigious International Symposium on Display Holography as the best and most versatile illumination device for holograms! HoloLamp includes a zoom lens to narrow or widen the spot and can be powered by either the included wall adapter or with most any power bank rechargeable battery with a USB-A connector, 10,000 mAh yields over 15 hours of continuous illumination.

Holography is a Nobel award-winning science come art, and is different from any other 3D medium. No glasses or special effects are required to see the spectacular dimension and realism. It is said that holograms trick light, not your eyes! It is impossible to convey the depth or amazing imagery in a hologram via pictures, as laser-made holograms truly need to be seen to be believed! Our holograms are among the finest commercial holograms on the planet and at extremely great values!

We offer over a hundred different hologram images, available in 5 display formats: Matted, Desk Stand, Framed, Lighted Desk Stand, and Lighted Wall Display. Our LIGHTED DESK OR WALL DISPLAY variations are plug-and-play, allowing for fast 'slide-in' changes of same-sized matted holograms! Whether for you or as the perfect gift, they maximize amazement right out of the box! Please choose from one of the variations above these bullet points for the product display type that best fits your needs.

Holograms are spectacular, extremely realistic & 3D, and require a quality light at the correct angle to be seen properly. DIRECT SUNLIGHT (not in shadow or haze) is ideal. Holograms also show beautifully under a halogen or single bulb LED. FOR EASIEST & BEST DISPLAY please choose one of our LIGHTED VARIATIONS (above). We designed these self-contained desk & wall displays with a BUILT-IN LIGHT to best show off our (easily interchangeable) holograms, making superb gifts. Unbox, plug in, be awed!

Thank you for visiting and we hope you enjoy your purchase! ✨
